Methven Golf Club
Country Golf at its finest
Welcome
Known as one of the finest country courses in New Zealand, the Methven 18-hole golf course offers spectacular views of Mt Hutt Ski Area and the Southern Alps.
Located 1 hour drive south of Christchurch, just off Inland Scenic Route 72, this easy walking course is planted with a beautiful selection of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs.
Our course is open year round to all visitors and members. We have organised club competition days on Saturday, Wednesday and Friday morning for 9 holers – casual golfers are always welcome to join us. We offer a range of green fee options, including Traveller’s Special, reciprocal rights and group discounts. We have golf clubs, trundlers and carts available for hire and a large practice area is available for the use by both guests and members for a small hire fee. Bookings preferred.
Our Clubhouse can easily handle events for 10-140 people and is ideal for family gatherings or corporate events. It has a beautiful west facing aspect overlooking the course and Southern Alps. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
As the Club approaches its first 100 years in 2024, members are proud of the course and the range of facilities available for use by visitors and members.
The Methven GC is a must play in the Canterbury area! The large greens are unique to country golf courses and are always presented well. Tree lined fairways have excellent variation of plantings and amazing views of the mountains. A challenging water hole on the back nine adds to the experience. Methven GC is a challenging and consistent layout for all golfers!
May I say what a pleasure it was for Rose and I to play your course today. I would be happy to play here all the time, an easy walk, large greens and a friendly welcome.
May I wish you and your members well during your centenary celebrations next year.
Congratulations to you and all the staff at Methven Golf Club. You guys are doing a fantastic job. Course is in excellent shape considering the number of green staff working there. And the course is challenging enough and still fun.
